Academy Dance Festival

On Sunday, June 12, 2016, the young dancers of the Dancing Classrooms Academy will take to the dance floor at the Riverside Church in Manhattan to display their moves at the 10th ANNUAL ACADEMY DANCE FESTIVAL.  Come enjoy the beauty and artistry of our students as they dance the Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Tango, Waltz and Swing as well as the Merengue, Rumba, Samba and Salsa.

A fun day filled with exhibition/demonstration/competition, the festival is different from the ‘Colors of the Rainbow’ Team Match competition as seen in the documentary ‘Mad Hot Ballroom’.
Students participating in the festival are members of the Academy, our weekend program comprised of 10-17 year old students who have previously participated in our school-based social development residencies. The festival is an exciting event and a great way to celebrate these talented students!
